Life at Terama, in our own words.

Milestones, open days, partnerships and the everyday wins that make sixty years of community worth celebrating.

Terama turns 60: six decades of dignity on the Coast.

Hands joined together in celebration of Terama's 60th anniversary

In 1965, a small group of Central Coast families sat around a kitchen table with a radical idea for the time: that their sons and daughters with disability deserved real work, real friendship and a real place in the community. Sixty years later, that idea is Terama Industries.

From those humble beginnings, Terama has grown into a medium-sized registered charity providing supported employment and supported accommodation to people with disability across the Gosford region. Generations of workers have packed, assembled, built and gardened their way to skills, wages and self-belief — and generations of residents have found a true home with us.

"Sixty years isn't about looking back," says the Terama team. "It's about proving that a community that chooses to include everyone is stronger for it — and committing to the next sixty."

Thank you to every family, volunteer, worker, resident and local business who has been part of the story so far.

Autumn open day: come and see what we do.

The Terama team welcoming visitors during an open day

Ever wondered what happens inside the Terama workshop at 143 Henry Parry Drive? Our autumn open day is your chance to come behind the scenes.

Meet our supported employees and see contract work in action — packaging, assembly and labelling for local businesses. Tour our grounds, chat with support workers, and hear from families about the difference the right support makes.

If you're a school leaver (or the parent of one) planning what comes next, our team will be on hand to talk through supported employment pathways and how the NDIS fits in. No bookings needed — just drop in, say hello and stay for a cuppa.

Details and dates are shared via email — write to info@terama.net.au to be added to the list.

Local businesses back inclusive employment.

Local business owners partnering with Terama for contract work

A growing number of Central Coast businesses are discovering what our long-term customers have known for decades: outsourcing packaging, assembly and grounds work to Terama is good business — and it changes lives.

Every contract our crews complete means paid, meaningful work for people with disability. Our quality standards keep customers coming back, and our workers take visible pride in a job done well.

"The finished product speaks for itself," one local partner told us. "But knowing the work also supports inclusive employment on the Coast — that's the real win."

If your business has packaging, assembly, labelling, mail-out or grounds maintenance needs, we'd love to quote. Contact info@terama.net.au to start the conversation.

The garden crew keeping the Coast green.

Ask our grounds maintenance crew what they love about the job and the answers come fast: the fresh air, the mateship, and driving past a park or garden and saying "we did that."

The crew supports local sites with mowing, planting, mulching and tidy-ups — building skills, fitness and confidence along the way. For many crew members it's a first job; for some, a stepping stone toward open employment.

It's supported employment exactly as it should be: real work, done to a high standard, with the right support around each person.
